Mandate and Functions of CAMET

1. Study Agrometeorological scientific bases to establish policy and law dealing with the exploitation of Natural resources (climate, land and water) respond to the requirements of agricultural production, food security and suistainable development;

2. Fomulate and submit the plan for studies, development of sciences and technologies on long term, 5 years and annual on agrometeorology to Director of Institute and organize to implement after being approved;

3. Implement the programs, projects and thematic studies on science and technology ,investigation, experiment in Agrometeorology;

4. Sign and implement the contracts of science studies, apply advanced science and technology, transfer techologies, research, experiment results in agrometeorology for end uses by the regulations of Government, MoNRE and IMH;

5. Edit and publish agrometeorological bulletins, seasonal reports and early warning of agrometeorological conditions and predictions of rice crop yield, compile the guide to agrometeorological practice for end-users, planed by IMH;

6. Formulate and submit to Director of IMH the plan of the post-graduate, training education programmes and improve to civil servants, officials on agrometeorology;

7. Take part in the building of the plan of agrometeorological development, guide to agrometeorological observation, experiment and investigation on agrometeorology;

8. Take part in the implementation of the International cooperation programmes/projects and themes on agrometeorology;

9. Manage and put to good account Centre staffs, finance and facilities assigned by IMH;

10. Summary to give scheduled or unscheduled report on the work performance;

11. Implement the other tasks assigned by Director of IMH.
