Mandate and Functions

1.Undertake studies of scientific ground for the establishment of development strategy and policies on meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics; participate in the formulation of development strategy on science and techology of IMH;

2.Fomulate and submit to to Director of Institute for approval and implementation of the long term, 5-year, annual research plans for meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, sea – air interaction;

3.Participating in building up development project on meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, sea – air interacrion for IMH;

4.Organize the implementation of the programs, projects and thematic studies on science and techology for meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, sea – air interacrion;

5.Study, apply advanced science and techology, and transfer techologies in meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, sea – air interacrion;

6.Undertake the contracts on thematic studies, applied advanced techniques and transfer research, experiment results in meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, sea – air interacrion for IMH;

7.Investigate, experiment in meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics and sea – air interaction;

8.Perform post-graduate education programmes and improve to civil servants, officials; 

9.Take part in the implementation of the international cooperation programmes/projects on meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, sea – air interacrion as assigned by IMH;

10.Organize to publish meteorological, climate bulletins and predictions; 

11.Undertake management of staffs, finance and office facilities as assigned by IMH; 

12.Perform the periodical and/or ad-hoc report on the work performance;

13.Implement the other tasks as assigned by Director of IMH;
